Engineering the Future

The nation's largest not-for-profit engineering education program teams middle school students with professionals and teachers to tackle the challenge of building a livable city of the future.

Through exciting, hands-on applications, students have fun while learning about science and technology (STEM), and developing valuable life skills.

. . . and, they have a chance to win a trip to the National Finals in Washington, DC.

[Jan-12] The North Texas Regional is looking for dozens of technical professionals to help inspire the next generation of engineers. Sign up now for judging positions on 21 Jan. Come and be amazed by the middle-schoolers vision of the future.
 
Theme for 2011-12 will be alternative energy sources.
[June-11] Future City students this year will research alternative energy sources for their future cities. These sources must be reduce environmental impact and do not deplete natural resources.
 
Future City Learning Blocks - Tools for Teachers
[Jul-10] Teachers often find it challenging to develop hands-on quality programs that link to the curriculum and meet the standards while giving their students real world opportunities to use STEM skills. The new Future City Learning Blocks offer a series of project-based learning activities that uphold the integrity of the cross-disciplinary, STEM learning experience.
