The nation's largest not-for-profit engineering education program teams middle school students with professionals and teachers to tackle the challenge of building a livable city of the future.

Through exciting, hands-on applications, students have fun while learning about science and technology, and developing valuable life skills.

Theme for 2009-10 will be green building.
[Apr-09] The built environment has a vast impact on the natural environment, human health, and the economy. For 2009-10, FC students will be asked to tackle the challenge of designing affordable residences that use sustainable materials, have a low-carbon emissions footprint, and achieve the "Green Ideals" of energy efficient building.

[Apr-09] National Association for Secondary School Principals has approved FC for listing in Student Contests and Activities.
 
N. Texas team is National Finalist
[Feb-09] The N. Texas team, Heliopolis from McLean MS, was a finalist at the National Future City Competition in Washington, DC.
 
McLean MS team to go to Washington DC
[Jan-09] Heliopolis, the team from McLean MS in Fort Worth won the N TX competition on 24 Jan and will be going to Washington DC to compete in the National Finals. More results.
